One more Helping Hand

  • On a hot April afternoon,
  • The man on the horse was
  • Riding fast.
  • When he came near the bridge,
  • He slowed down.
  • He saw the company of soldiers,
  • lifting up heavy logs,
  • And piling  them up.
  • The Captain  didn't move,
  • He stood there  shouting
  • And ordering the soldiers,
  • To do ,to move the log.
  • One more hand would have helped them.
  • He didn't give  any help.
  • The man on the horse got down,
  • And gave them a helping hand.
  • The soldiers all, thanked him.
  • One soldier asked his name.
  • He replied,
  • " My parents call me George,
  • My friends Washington,
  • Others call me President."
  • So said our beloved George Washington.""
  • Such is the person who can lead any nation.
