- On a hot April afternoon,
- The man on the horse was
- Riding fast.
- When he came near the bridge,
- He slowed down.
- He saw the company of soldiers,
- lifting up heavy logs,
- And piling them up.
- The Captain didn't move,
- He stood there shouting
- And ordering the soldiers,
- To do ,to move the log.
- One more hand would have helped them.
- He didn't give any help.
- The man on the horse got down,
- And gave them a helping hand.
- The soldiers all, thanked him.
- One soldier asked his name.
- He replied,
- " My parents call me George,
- My friends Washington,
- Others call me President."
- So said our beloved George Washington.""
- Such is the person who can lead any nation.
